I would like to welcome you to my physical education website. I am in my 33rd year of teaching physical education at District 87 and I have taught numerous classes in all areas from P.E. leadership, adaptive P.E., individual, recreational and competitive physical education.
The majority of my classes are student led from the warm-ups, demonstrations of techniques, creativity of class games and team drills. There is also an emphasis on individual fitness, nutrition and team building strategies. Throughout my career in District 87 I have coached three extracurricular sports: girls basketball,as the head coach for 11 years, girls track & field assistant for 14 years, and the girls softball varsity assistant for one year. Currently, I am the school sponsor for Zumba which is held weekly for all students, teachers, faculty, and parents throughout our community. I am also the BHS Fit Club Sponsor working with ladies who are interested in lifting weights and doing extreme fitness workouts after school. |
ZumbaZumba is held every Thursday beginning in September to provide our students with extra credit points or make-up opportunities for physical education and health classes. The activity involves a variety of dance styles while promoting cardiovascular fitness. All though this activity is student based we strongly encourage our staff, faculty and parents in the community to attend.

Physical EducationCompetitive P.E. is comprised of students who are highly skilled and more experienced. Team sports such as basketball, volleyball, flag football, softball and soccer are played at a higher level with a stronger emphasis on competition.
Recreational P.E. is a combination of students who enjoy playing team sports but with an emphasis on health benefits opposed to score results. Individual P.E. is a class that is focused on individual progress through a variety of offerings. This would include bowling, badminton, archery, tennis, and aerobics. This class poses an intensity level which still challenges students. |
BHS Fit ClubThe primary focus of the BHS fit club is to improve on the five components of fitness which include the following: cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance, strength, body fat, and flexibility. Healthy eating and individual goal setting are also done to enhance weight loss.
Additionally, I started training elite female athletes prior to their seasons for preparatory conditioning. |
